July 2011

Loss of Findlay, OH, processing center due to fire caused by contractor error; client services continue via temporary mobile facilities.

November 2011

g2 leases a 212,000 sf. former Cardinal Health warehouse in Findlay, OH, for processing materials.

December 2012

Feed the Future program initiated to help purchase meals for food banks and to support homeless shelters activities.

January 2013

g2 launches first grocery store client consumer chemical product recycling program in Minnesota and Florida.

February 2013

g2 leases a 27,000 sf. former airplane hanger next to the Lake in the Hills, IL, airport for a new headquarters and container shipping operation.

g2 continues to grow and leases a second 14,000 sf. airplane hanger adjacent to the airport for storage.

June 2014

g2 crease a customer-facing “myecotrak” data portal for clients to review recycling data, by container, from all their facilities.

January 2015

US Environmental Protection Agency releases letter concurring in general with g2 proposed approach for nicotine-containing product recycling, facilitating the launch of separate Knightshade LLC recycling services.

May 2015

g2 launches its first recycling program for a convenience store chain.

February 2016


g2 becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of new holding company Watterson Brands, LLC, and Scott DeMuth becomes its President.

January 2018

g2 receives our first “Silver Medal” rating from corporate social responsibility assessor EcoVadis.

March 2018

g2’s Findlay operation partners with New Vision Employment Services to provide jobs for individuals with developmental disabilities.

March 2019

Feed the Future program support extended to include environmental conservation organizations, such as the Black Swamp Conservancy. 

June 2019

g2 achieves Green Business Bureau “platinum” status for sustainability initiatives within its own operations.

Feed the Future milestone:  2,000,000 meals provided to combat hunger through g2 recycling!

February 2020

g2 moves its headquarters and shipping to a larger leased 117,000 sf. building in Lake Zurich, IL, adding in materials processing similar to Findlay’s operations.

Launch of bareMinerals recycling program with g2.

g2 achieves two “zero-waste-to-landfill” certifications for Lake Zurich and Findlay recycling operations, and a materials “chain-of-custody” certification for select vendors, audited by GreenCircle Certified.

December 2021

g2 begins supporting Lake County Haven, a local organization assisting homeless women and children with shelter, education and other needs.

January 2022

Feed the Future milestone:  g2 local charitable partner the Pioneer Center has provided 30,000 person-days of homeless shelter support through g2 recycling programs.

March 2022

g2 creates a solution to fully recycle liquid foundation, creating a full circle cosmetic solution.
